CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) ? A thunderstorm in North Carolina forced the plane carrying Vice President Joe Biden to delay landing for more than 30 minutes.
Air Force Two was approaching Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Tuesday when the pilot abruptly pulled up and circled for about 35 minutes because of thunderstorms in the area.
The White House called the tactic a "missed approach" and said the pilot of the Boeing 757 landed on the second attempt with no problems.
Biden, who arrived an hour late for a campaign event, referred to the bumpy ride and joked that there were some "queasy stomachs on our plane."
Last week, bad weather forced Air Force One into an aborted landing as President Barack Obama campaigned in Ohio. There were no significant delays in that incident.
